News From The Chair
Now we are at our new home after the demise of the Weald Inn We hope we have settled down as it is our AGM at our April Meeting. Will try and keep it short. It is Business as usual if I do not here differently. All our committee members are still prepared to stand for a further year and we would like to add Phil Faben to our ranks. So we have Fred Bone (Chair) Bob Martin (Vice Chair). Judith Bone (Hon Sec). Ian Renshaw (Treasurer), Nick Wilmore events, Tony Boyle, and adding Phil Faben Webmaster/ Promotions.
As we near the end of another very successful season with our Pride and Joys we move into the winter months. Where I hope we the committee can offer some club night activities and events to cheer us up in the dark periods.
As you are all probably aware we lost our publicans Bob and Chrissie to retirement, but the position of Vice Chair is still held by Bob and their continued presents is assured.
Our Breakfasts have now been suspended until February but do not despair we are doing our Heaven Farm Xmas Lunch on Sunday 22nd December (Still a couple of places available if you wish to join us. Our Drive and Dine is very popular and well supported, it continues throughout the winter season in November it is at the Green Man, Ringmer
I would like to take this opportunity to Thank You All for your support and wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and safe 2020 from myself and the committee. Without you it would not work. I have enjoyed 2019 with our Weald members very much and look forward to 2020 with all my WCVC friends.
The committee are busy looking to re brand the club Logo and promotion material as the ones we have now are getting a little dated and we should move on. Any ideas at this early stage please let me know. However we do have a great graphic design team in our membership who has been offering great Ideas and working hard on the project. Thank you team Chloe, Luke, Phil and Nick.

Weald AGM Chairman report 2019.
Good evening Welcome to the 2019 Club AGM.
We have sent out invites and made nomination forms available for the members to submit. Committee members to join us and they will be mentioned in item no 4 If appropriate. I am sorry that this AGM will not be running to protocole as I was not present last year and have no minutes or record of the event. I have 2017.
Well we are here again. I never thought when I came in to Bobs pub in the back at the beginning when four of us sat in the corner to see if we could get a small group together for the BH U3A. with interest in Classic cars, non of us had classic cars. Small problem !!! Bob stepped in and offered to do a talk on his Vincent Black Shadow. Hence the Classic Vehicle club we now boast a coach and fire engine. And the rest as they say is history. Thanks to every member for there participation and support.

2018 has been a very good year for events thanks to members wishing to get involved. We have attended many Classic car shows around the area including very enjoyable and popular Marques at Spencers thanks to member Ian Spencer also holding one or two of our own. Classics in the Park. Classics for the BHU3A anniversary. Unfortunately our biggest 2018 event Classics in the town was beaten by the only bad weather of the summer last year. But this year it will be back bigger and better than ever. Our Monthly Meetings have had some good content thanks to members providing entertaining presentations. Namely Nick and Steve. With the odd quiz and race night thrown in. Our Bonnets up evenings proved very popular. As you are aware we have plans for another eventful year this coming year with all of our regular favorites plus the return of the Burgess Hill Duck Fair on July 13th at Worlds End and more if you membership can think of them as it is your club.
The Monthly Drive and dine continue to do well.Thanks to Tony and Linda’s efforts at different venues, along with our Monthly Breakfast held mainly at Heaven Farm Tea Rooms we have had as I said a very enjoyable and active 2018. Finally a mention of our selected Charity Chailey Heritage which we will continue to support, we did managed to raise some funds for but they are mostly appreciative of the awareness we provide for them. There enterprise centre provide our Promotion material. Including window stickers and Baseball caps.
The Website is our highest cost after insurance so please make use of it. I know its not the best design but it is informative providing I keep it up to date. Any Content or Images you would like put on it please send them to me via the club g.mail address.

Unfortunately Ian has work commitments and cannot do his report. I have posted and distributed the accounts as given to me. But any questions must be addressed to Ian. Its all numbers to me. One thing you will notice as I did there is no Public Liability insurance is shown due to my being in Australia last year when it was due and I can assure you it was paid by me but as yet not reclaimed.

Hello fellow members. I am sorry we have not had an updated web site for some time as I had finger trouble and messed it up. Thanks to Nick Willmore we are now up and running again. Please note we have now an archives page where I have moved the news prior to 2018.
We have now reached October and we are still busy enjoying our pride and joys in spite of our big event being a victim of one of the few wet Sundays this year. Our Club outings,Club nights and our Drive and Dines are still very popular. Our October continues with our Quiz Night run by Judith and was weel enjoyed by the attendees. and thank to their generosity over £20.00 was collected and donated to our Charity Chailey Heritage..
The next event is a visit to Ian and Ann Spencers at Ticehurst for a Brmm Brmm Brunch
10.30 onwards. Our next breakfast is Sunday 21st October at the Heaven Tea Rooms. 9.15 start.
The Heaven tea rooms are holding Xmas lunches through out December with 4 sittings a day from the 6th to the 23rd. we have been invited to join friends from the ESJEC to join them on the Saturday the 8th for a 1.30 pm sitting, or we could arrange one to go as a club ourselves or as individuals, Please let me know your thoughts, they would live to see you support them as they have supported us over the year. We will be looking for a different venue for January and February as the Heaven are on their annual holiday.
Our Drive and Dines are still very popular run by Linda and Tony Boyle. The October one is at the Hare and Hounds in Cowfold for the October drive and dine

Our November meeting at the Weald on the 6th November is one of Nick Willmore presentations and should be ! no will be good fun.
We have currently 2 members requiring help. Bob King has his Chevvy for sale and David R Wilson would like advise and help on replacing a windscreen Rubber in his Austin A30

News from the Chair. March 2018
Sorry long time between updates. All the information has been on the front home page Been neglecting my own page.
We have achieved so much since I last wrote it is hard to recall with my old brain.
In September we had our biggest ever showing of club cars in our own Classics in the Town well supported by the Burgess Hill Town Council in Church Walk, over 50 Cars of all types on show. The town was full of people and the sun shone brightly. The show was opened by our Town Mayor Cllr Jacqui Landriani arriving in a nice if not so classic Jaguar F type sports car which lined up in our fast and furious group. Also supporting and providing the Music was the Burgess Hill Radio outside broadcast unit. The Burgess Hill 7th Scout group provided Doughnuts and the money raised on the day went to the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance. One of our members Graham Smith ran a quiz for the youngsters during the day that included picking their best car of the show and why. The results were then judged and a winner selected.The winner chose a Porsche. This encouraged Graham to call on Mid Sussex Porsche and they invited us to present the prize to him in their showroom. They then proceeded to present him with a few gifts and gave him and his proud dad a ride in a new Porsche . We do know we have been invited to hold another Classics in the Town on 23rd September 2018.
We as a club attended many classic shows locally along with our club monthly meetings, breakfast and drive and dines. Making it a very busy and enjoyable year. Our Post Xmas Dinner at the Thatched Inn, Hassocks was well attended and very enjoyable.
We now look forward to the 2018 season. This year we will as already announced be holding the Classics in the town in September again with our Charity partners for the event being Chailey Heritage. More from me latter if I am re elected at the AGM in April.
